Bangladesh rescue team is going to Turkey to aide earthquake relief

Dhaka, February 8: A rescue team is being sent from Bangladesh to join the rescue efforts after the earthquake in Turkey. It will have members of Bangladesh Army and Fire Service.

According to the fire service, a rescue team of 12 members of the fire service has been prepared to be sent along with the joint support team sent by the Bangladesh Armed Forces.

Officer-in-Charge (Media Cell) of Fire Service and Civil Defense Headquarters Md. Shahjahan Shikder informed this information on Tuesday.

Shahjahan Shikder said that international assistance has been requested by the country to participate in the rescue work in Turkey, which was devastated by the terrible earthquake. In that context, a joint aid team is being sent to Turkey under the leadership of the Bangladesh Armed Forces in the light of the Prime Minister's instructions. A rescue team of 12 members of the fire service is going in it.

In a response to this, Director General (DG) of Fire Service Brigadier General Md. Sajjad Hossain said, "We feel honored to include the Fire Service with the combined rescue team under the direction of the Prime Minister. This is the fire service's first overseas trip to conduct rescue operations in the international arena
