Dhaka, September 28: The Covid-19 situation in Bangladesh is under control as infection rate have dropped below the five percent mark. The testing and daily deaths, have also decreased.

The death rate, detection, sample testing and recoveries have decreased by 35.7 percent, 29.4 percent, 4.9 percent and 56.3 percent respectively. The difference was found in the 38th week (September 20 to 27) compared to the 37th week (September 13 to 19) of the coronavirus infection epidemiological week this year.

In the 37th week, 1,90,923 samples were tested, 12,270 people tested positive for the virus and 294 people died. During this time, 22,720 people recovered.

In the 38th week, 1,81,494 samples were tested, 8,668 people were infected, while 189 people died. A total of 9,938 people recovered, according to a DGHS press release on Monday (September 27).

In between Sunday and Monday morning, 1,212 people tested positive for the virus. The caseload touched 15,52,563.

During this time, 28,485 samples were collected and 27,787 samples were tested at 821 government and private laboratories. The daily infection rate was 4.36 percent.

The press release said 1,202 people recovered from the disease between Sunday and Monday. A total of 15,12,681 people have recovered from Covid-19, so far, in Bangladesh. The country's recovery rate stands at 97.43 percent.

Twenty-five people had died during the aforementioned 24 hours.
