Bangladesh-US Bangladesh's prosperity under Sheikh Hasina's leadership is commendable: US Congressman
Dhaka, August 31: Senior US Congressman and Chairman of the Parliamentary Security Intelligence Forum (PSIF), Robert Pittenger, said that Bangladesh is a close partner of the US in countering terrorism in South Asia and the country continues to make strong economic progress under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud reached London on Wednesday morning to attend the PSIF conference, the top forum of the international security arena with parliamentarians from different countries of the world.
Robert Pittenger said this at the meeting at The Library Hall of London Marriott Hotel. Syeda Muna Tasnim, High Commissioner of Bangladesh appointed to UK was present on the occasion.
The senior US Congressman said that their relationship with Bangladesh is very important. We are observing the strong economic progress of Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Pittenger also said that the United States attaches great importance to the fight against global terrorism. And Bangladesh is a close partner of the United States in countering terrorism in the South Asian region.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Hasan Mahmood praised the role of the United States in the development and progress of the country and suppression of militancy and terrorism and expressed hope that this cooperation will continue to strengthen. The minister is representing Bangladesh at the PSIF conference at Central Hall Westminster, London from August 31 to September 1.
