Dhaka, January 27: Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury said, "Bangladesh-India are close neighbors and responsible neighbors. No one can change this position of neighbor. Both countries maintain brotherly relations. As India was the first to extend a hand in our freedom war. For this reason, I am the people of India, the Government of India and Remembering and thanking the Indian soldiers who lost their lives."

He said this at a function organized on the occasion of the 74th Indian Republic Day at a hotel in Chittagong city on Thursday (January 26) evening. Indian Assistant High Commissioner appointed in Chittagong Dr. Rajeev Ranjan gave a welcome speech on the occasion.

The minister said that India-Bangladesh relations have progressed step by step since 1971. Not only in business, culture, education or medical field, the relationship between two countries is human to human, soul to soul. India is the first to stand by us with vaccines during Corona. People of Bangladesh are grateful to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this.

Pointing out that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have a friendly and excellent relationship, the minister said that the people of both countries enjoy the relationship between the two Prime Ministers. India-Bangladesh relations are strong, which cannot be broken. This relationship will continue in the future. Bangladesh and India have similarities in culture, food, clothing. You will not find any difference between the two countries. Our relationship is win-win. India's economy is one of the strongest in the world. They are the fifth largest economy in the world. Bangladesh is also moving forward. Bangladesh is moving forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Like our neighboring country India, we are also moving forward. Our economy and development is moving forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Rajeev Ranjan said that today India-Bangladesh bilateral relations are better than ever. Government of India attaches utmost importance to relations with Bangladesh. Neighbors come first to us. Bangladesh is first among neighbors.

He said that in 1971, the brave freedom fighters of Bangladesh and the Indian army laid down their lives together in the independence war of Bangladesh and created a permanent bond between the two countries. Today our ties are not limited to traditional areas like trade, customs, security and border management. Our bond is now beyond strategic relations. India is Bangladesh's committed development partner. Our joint initiative to advance bilateral relations proves our cooperation for the economic development of the people of the two countries.
