Dhaka, 16 October 2021: As the light pressure in the coastal areas of northern Andhra Pradesh and adjoining areas of India rises to the ground, it has also increased rainfall in Bangladesh.

Therefore, the mild heat wave in 16 districts of the country has been removed. The Meteorological Department also said that the temperature may drop slightly in the next 24 hours.

It has rained in all sections except Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions in the last 24 hours from 8 am on Saturday (October 18) to 8 am on Sunday (October 18). The highest rainfall at this time was in Khulna, 26 mm. Dhaka received 14 mm of rain.

The Barisal and Khulna divisions are prone to rains, which may continue for the next 24 hours, the Meteorological Department said. The sun has been shining in the sky of Dhaka since Sunday morning.

Meteorologist Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallick said the light pressure located along the coast of northern Andhra Pradesh and adjoining areas is currently located in the Telangana area.

South-west monsoon winds have blown away from the north of the country. Monsoon winds are active elsewhere in the country and are weak in the North Bay.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 9 am on Sunday said that in many places of Khulna and Barisal divisions; Some parts of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chittagong divisions and a couple of places in Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions may experience temporary gusts or thundershowers. During this time, day and night temperatures across the country may drop slightly, the forecast said.
