Microbus driver Swapan Chandra Roy, 23, and passenger Sabina Yasmin, 40, were killed in a head-on collision between a microbus and a tractor at Tentulia in Panchagarh.

The accident took place on Panchagarh-Tentulia highway in Majhipara area of ​​Tentulia upazila on Saturday night. Sabina Yasmin's husband Rabiul Islam and six others were injured in the accident.

The deceased were identified as Swapan Chandra Roy, son of Tulesh Chanda Roy of Burimutki area of ​​Tentulia upazila and Sabina Yasmin of Kolonipara area of ​​Tentulia.

According to police and locals, Rabiul Islam was returning home with 10 members of his family in a microbus after receiving an invitation at a relative's house in Dudumari area of ​​Panchagarh. In the Majhipara area, their microbus collided head-on with a stone-carrying tractor coming from the opposite direction.

Rabiul's wife Sabina Yasmin and microbus driver Swapan died on the spot. The injured were rescued by locals and admitted to Tentulia Upazila Health Complex and later to Panchagarh Adhunik Sadar Hospital.The injured have been identified as Rabiul Islam (48) of Tentulia Colony, his son Faisal (18), daughter Raunak Jahan (12), father Ful Mohammad (7), mother Rokeya Begum (60) and wife of Mokshed Ali of Mominpara area Tahmina Begum (50). , Daughter Mithila Akhter (15) and Renu Begum (45), wife of Akhtaruzzaman of the same area.

Among them, Ful Mohammad, Rokeya Begum and Renu Begum were sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital as their condition was critical.

Rakibul Hasan, a doctor at Panchagarh Adhunik Sadar Hospital, said the condition of three of the four people admitted to Panchagarh Adhunik Sadar Hospital was critical. They have been shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
