Dhaka, 18 January 2021: A 63-year-old woman and a 47-year-old middle-aged man living in London, Habiganj district, returned home on 3 January. Both of them brought with them a negative certificate of being tax-free from the RTPCR laboratory.

In addition, they stay in the mandatory quarantine at the government-designated residential hotel at their own expense, following government instructions.

After two weeks, their samples were collected and sent to the RTPCR laboratory. Everyone concerned was surprised to get the result. Both of them are not positive. After the news spread, there was a fight between the pathologists and the health experts. How is this possible?

Discussions are going on everywhere about how and from where these two were infected, even after bringing a negative certificate of the sample test done in the UK laboratory. For now, they have been sent to Kuwait Bangladesh Maitri Government Hospital for treatment. This information has been known from several responsible sources of the health department.

On condition of anonymity, they said why Corona was positive despite staying in a residential hotel for 14 days after returning from the UK, where the infection came from, whether anyone who came in contact with her was identified as Corona, and if so, whether it was a special type of corona. The Department of Health has already started work to find out.

Department officials say they are more concerned about a new type of coronavirus infection in the UK. As a special precaution, they are placing more emphasis on mandatory institutional quarantine and monitoring of returning passengers than in other countries. In this situation, after 14 days, the fact that Corona has been identified positively is making them think. However, they said that they will be tested again to see if they are really positive.

In this regard, the Chief Health Officer of the Department of Health working at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. Shahriar said two passengers returning to the UK tested positive for corona after 14 days of quarantine. However, he declined to give details.
