He said this at an extended meeting of Gazipur district Awami League on Saturday.
Obaidul Quader joined the extended meeting via video conference from his official residence.
Noting that the Sheikh Hasina government is not only against rape and violence against women, but also against any wrongdoing, Obaidul Quader said, "Those involved in every incident have been arrested and brought to justice."
He said that the cleansing campaign being carried out by the government to curb irregularities in the health sector, starting from the anti-casino campaign, was self-motivated and not in response to anyone's demands.
Obaidul Quader said, BNP wants the fall of the government by taking the movement in a different sector. He said the BNP was trying to make the peaceful movement violent and the government was aware of it. Quader also said that work is underway to identify those who are conspirators and rumor mongers.
He said the government would crack down on any attempt to create instability and conspiracy in the name of the movement in the public interest.
The general secretary of the Awami League said that terrorists, rapists and drug addicts cannot be given shelter at any stage of the party. Sacrificial leaders and workers should be evaluated in the formation of the committee.
