Dhaka, February 2: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that Bangladesh will move forward by foiling plans bu its enemies. She made the remarks during the last day of the 11 Parliamentary Session on Tuesday.

Sheikh Hasina said, "No one will be homeless in Mujib's Bengal. Already 70,000 homeless people have been given houses. One lakh more houses are under construction. These houses will be handed over on the golden jubilee of Mujibvarsha and independence.

As per custom, the Leader of the Opposition speaks before the closing remarks of the Leader of the House. Leader of the Opposition Raushan Ershad and Deputy Leader of the Opposition GM Quader were not seen in the session. Although GM Quader was affected by the coronavirus, he was cured.

In her concluding remarks, Sheikh Hasina highlighted the absence of the Leader of the Opposition and said, "This session is going on at the time of the pandemic, for which it may not be possible to bring all the MPs at the same time. Our Leader of the Opposition was supposed to attend, but she did not come here thinking about the people as a member in her house was found to be Covid-19 positive. I am sorry that we did not get to listen to her speech, but I thank her for the benevolent thoughts she has towards the people. It would have been nice if she had come as we could have listened to her.'

The Prime Minister said, "There is so much talk about the Padma Bridge but we did such a thing with our own funds. Some people are unable to praise it, on the contrary, BNP leader Khaleda Zia said, the Padma bridge has been built with patchwork. She is asking others to not avail the route. Then how will people cross the river? If you have to cross the river then you have to take the boat (the remark suggests that anyway, people will have to be with the Awami League as the boat is its party symbol).
