Bangladeshi company claims to invent corona 'destroyer' nose spray

Dhaka, January 13: The Bangladesh Reference Institute for Chemical Measurements (BRICM) has demanded the development of a nasal spray capable of destroying the coronavirus located at the junction of the nose, nostrils, mouth cavity and respiratory tract. Named 'Bangosef Oro Nasal Spray'. The government establishment claimed that Bangladesh is the first in the world to invent such a spray.

BRICM raised the issue for the first time at a meeting of the Standing Committee on the Ministry of Science and Technology held at the Sangsad Bhaban on Tuesday (January 12).

During the meeting, BRICM informed that they have tested this spray in 200 Covid-19 patients at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Evidence of viral load reduction in Covid-19 patients was found.

Committee member Habibe Millat said the committee had asked for this spray for further clinical trials. Besides, approval has been sought from Bangladesh Medical Research Council and concerned departments.

Representatives of BRICM informed the meeting that if the solution they have prepared is sprayed after 3/4 hours, the coronavirus located at the junction of nose, nostrils, mouth cavity and respiratory tract will be destroyed If someone goes near an infected person and the infection occurs, this spray will destroy the virus.

The meeting recommended strengthening oversight to ensure transparency and accountability in the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Novo Theater project to be built in Rajshahi. Besides, it is recommended to increase the purchase of research ships, recruitment of manpower and accommodation facilities of Bangladesh Maritime Research Institute.

Committee members Iqbalur Rahim, Habibe Millat, Shafiqul Azam Khan, Nizam Uddin Hazari, Mozaffar Hossain, Shirin Ahmed and Selima Ahmed took part in the meeting chaired by AFM Ruhul Haque.
