Bangladeshis can perform Umrah without visa: Saudi ambassador

Dhaka, Oct 4: Citizens of Bangladesh can perform the holy Umrah in Saudi Arabia without a visa by being a transit passenger on Saudi Airlines. Isa bin Yusuf Al-Duhaila, Saudi Arabia's ambassador to Bangladesh, shared this information.

He gave this information in a press conference at the Saudi Embassy on Tuesday. A press conference was organized to officially launch the Saudi volunteer program 'IBSAR' in Bangladesh. Isa bin Yusuf Al-Duhailan, Saudi Arabia's ambassador to Bangladesh, and Dr. Aqeel Al-Ghamdi, Assistant Supervisor General of Planning and Development Department of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, spoke at the press conference.

The Saudi ambassador said that Bangladeshi citizens can perform Umrah in Saudi Arabia without a visa. But in this case they have to be transit passengers of Saudia Airlines or national owned aircraft of that country. Transit passengers can stay in Saudi Arabia for 96 hours to perform Umrah.

He said that Umrah can be performed in Saudi Arabia even if you have a US, UK and Schengen visa. Besides, anyone can get Umrah visa by registering on Nusuk app without the help of any agency.

The Saudi ambassador also said that Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammad Bin Salman will visit Bangladesh next year. It will be a historic event if he visits.

It was informed on the occasion that 30,000 students will be given eye care in 50 schools of Dhaka district under the IBSA programme.
