BGB arrest three people for entering Bangladesh illegally

Dhaka, June 16: The BGB detained three people at the Satkhira border for entering Bangladesh illegally. They were detained in separate raids in Bhomra and Taluigachha border areas of Satkhira on Monday.

The detainees are: Mohammad Omar Farooq (20) of Balukhali Rohingya Refugee Camp in Teknaf Upazila of Cox's Bazar District; Sonia (22) of Rupdia area of Jessore; And Taslima (30) of Debhata area of Satkhira.

They have been kept in a temporary quarantine center at Sonabaria Primary School in Kalaroa, according to a press release sent from Satkhira 33 BGB Battalion.

Earlier, the BGB arrested seven people, including women, while they were illegally entering Bangladesh from India. The BGB raided Bhomra, Taluigachha and Madra borders in Satkhira and detained them.

The arrested are: Md. Abdullah, Rahima Begum and Ruhul Kazi of Narail district; Md. Sajid of Madaripur; Ayra Begum of Monirampur in Jessore; And Manjur Khan of Pirojpur district.

The arrested human trafficker Mofazzal Hossain is a resident of Keragachhi village in Kalaroa upazila of Satkhira.

BGB 33 Battalion Commander Lt. Colonel Al Mahmoud said patrols at the Satkhira border have been intensified due to the increase in coronavirus infections. They were detained while entering Bangladesh illegally from India. The detainees have been kept in institutional quarantine at Shakhra and Sonabaria under administrative management.

Earlier, in the last two weeks, BGB members detained 42 more people at the Satkhira border.
