BGB-BSF coordination meeting held at Banglabandha

Dhaka, March 15: A coordination meeting was held at sector commander level between BGB and BSF on India-Bangladesh border security including stopping border killings, and curbing drug smuggling in Panchagarh. The meeting was held at Banglabandha land port meeting room of Tentulia upazila on Tuesday afternoon.

According to BGB, Panchagarh-18 BGB Battalion organized the meeting. Officials of BGB Thakurgaon and Dinajpur sector and Kishanganj and Fulbari sector of BSF were present in it. Colonel Zia Sadat Khan, Sector Commander of Thakurgaon BGB, led the meeting on behalf of BGB and CD Agarwal, DIG of Kishanganj BSF sector of India, led the BSF side.

In the meeting, there was a discussion between BGB and BSF on India-Bangladesh border security, including stopping border killings, stopping drug smuggling, and stopping smuggling. Meanwhile, BGB-BSF agreed to work to maintain amicable coexistence along the border.

Earlier, when the BSF delegation headed by DIG of BSF Kishanganj sector Mr. CD Agarwal entered Bangladesh through Banglabandha check post, BGB gave floral greetings. Later, when they were brought to Banglabandha land port, they were honored by a guard of honour. After exchanging sweets, the delegation participated in a coordination meeting at the conference room of the port on the overall situation of the border.

Panchagarh-18 BGB Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Mahfuzul Haque said that both sides agreed to improve the mutual relationship between the border forces of the two countries, exchange information and keep the border situation normal. A memento was exchanged to commemorate the meeting at the sector commander level of both countries.
