Own Correspondent, Dhaka, March 24: The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and India's Border Security Force (BSF) are working together to reduce the killings at the border to 'zero'.

BGB Director General (DG) Major General Shakil Ahmed made the remarks after inspecting the Akhaura land port checkpost in Brahmanbaria on Wednesday.

Major General Shakil Ahmed said, "From the flag meeting with the BSF to every meeting, we discuss the killings at the border. Both sides want to bring border killings down to zero. We are increasing communication with each other. I hope there will be improvement in this regard."

The BGB director general said there are some international rules and regulations. This rule has to be obeyed by both the countries. We will construct the building in accordance with the international rules. We are having high level correspondence in this regard.

Officers of BGB Sector, Region and BGB-60 Battalion were present at the time.
