Dhaka, February 8: Two Rohingyas were killed in a gunfight with the BGB at the Amtali Reju border in Naikhongchhari. The BGB recovered one lakh pieces of yaba, two single-barreled guns and six cartridges from the victims. Naikhyangchhari Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Alamgir Hossain quoted the BGB as saying that the gunfight took place around 1.30 am on Monday (February 8).

The deceased were identified as Mohammad Jobayer, son of Forkan Ahmed of Kutupalong Lambasia camp in Cox's Bazar district and Din Mohammad, son of late Amir Hamza of Kutupalong camp.

The OC said the two were taken to the Ukhia Upazila Health Complex in Cox's Bazar with serious injuries. The doctor on duty at the hospital later declared them dead.

Meanwhile, according to BGB sources, some traders are entering Bangladesh from Myanmar with huge amount of yaba. The BGB received such news. Later, when 5 drug dealers entered the border, the BGB patrol team challenged them. At that time, drug dealers fired randomly at the patrol team.

Two drug dealers were seriously injured when the BGB fired back in self-defense. After rescuing them, BGB members took them to Ukhia Upazila Health Complex and the on-duty doctor declared them dead.
