Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 11 January 2024: Criticizing BNP, Awami League President Sheikh Hasina said that they have not come on the path of democracy. People chose to kill. So people rejected them. She said this during the Awami League's public meeting at the historical Suhrawardy Udyan on Bangabandhu's homecoming day on Wednesday, January 10.
Sheikh Hasina said, we have been selected in the January 7 election. The new MPs were sworn in this morning. Our parliamentary party elected me as their leader. Now the President's permission has to be taken to form the government. I will go directly to the President after completing this program. Many are dreaming a lot, some dreams will not come true. Bangladesh is moving forward, will move forward.
Awami League president said, like 2014, this time too, destructive work has started. Also distributed leaflets for boycott, we did not stop. But the people braved hundreds of hurdles and arson and intimidation and voted spontaneously, my gratitude to them.
She said, today we have confirmed people's right to vote and rice. I consolidated the democracy. People's fortunes have improved because there has been democracy for a long time. Bangladesh is progressing in all directions. There are some broker class people in the country and outside, they don't like our development. It seems that someone who is not chosen actually likes them. I am thankful to the people, they supported us by voting.
BNP is a fake party. Their movement is fake. Their program is fake. Their 28 points are fake. One point is fake. Their Mian Arafi (Bidener adviser) is fake. BNPO is also fake. Their leader Tarek is a fake. No one from London hears the call. Their present and future are false.
She said, the game is now a new game. The election game is over. Now the game will be politics. Now the game will be against communalism. The game will be against militancy. The game will be against corruption and looting. The game will be against terrorism.
