BNP Rally BNP gets permission to hold a mass meeting in Nayapaltan
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 27 July 2023: Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Khandkar Golam Farooq said that BNP will be allowed to hold a mass meeting in Nayapaltan of the capital tomorrow. He said, the two parties are being allowed to hold the assembly under 23 conditions.
The DMP Commissioner said that despite the challenge of Ashura, the DMP allowed the rally out of respect for the two political parties. However, subject to 23 conditions.
BNP has been allowed to rally in Paltan, while Awami League affiliates have been allowed to rally at the south gate of Baitul Mukarram. However, you have to accept Chaudhdi.
DMP Commissioner said, there is no threat surrounding the rally. However, as the two major parties have programs, strict security measures are being enforced. Police, RAB, BGB and Ansar will be deployed around the rally.
DMP Commissioner Khandkar Ghulam Farooq also mentioned that they will not be able to enter the rally with bags and batons.
He said, no seditious speech can be given in the rally. They cannot use the mic outside of the boundaries set by the DMP. They will keep their volunteers to avoid public suffering. To maintain law and order, both political parties will be requested to have volunteers and they will fully cooperate with the police. Strict legal action will be taken in case of breakdown of law and order.
