Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Oct 27: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Information and Technology Advisor Sajeeb Wazed Joy posted a video clip on his verified Facebook page about the funding of militants during the BNP-Jamaat regime.

In the video posted on Wednesday (October 26), he alleged that BNP government leaders used to send money to militants through the police.

Sajib Wazed said in the video, "Immediately after forming the government in 2001, the BNP-Jamaat men started a massacre of the Awami League leaders and activists, including killing, torturing, extorting, looting and raping their women."

"They even hired militant outfits to carry out killing missions across the country. Khaleda Zia’s government used to communicate with the militants through eight BNP leaders under the direct guidance of Tarique Rahman."

Joy said, "Even many members of the police force were forced to collaborate with the militants due to political pressure from some ministers."

"Leaders in the BNP-Jamaat government used to send money safely to militants through police personnel. Even when the police did manage to arrest some of the JMB militants, special orders would come from the higher levels of the government to grant them bail from the court," he added.
