Dhaka, March 3: Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has alleged that the BNP has repeatedly violated the spirit of independence and human rights under the guise of democracy. He said, "BNP celebratingIndependence Day with those who opposed freedom is nothing but a joke."

Quader made the remarks at an introductory meeting of the Relief and Social Welfare Sub-Committee at the party's central office on Wednesday (March 3). He joined the meeting by video conference from his official bus building.

Obaidul Quader said in response to the allegation that the buses were stopped on the occasion of the BNP rally. The government has no hand in this. People are watching the BNP beating the police with sticks. This is the politics of BNP. The BNP could not get out of their negative politics.

The Awami League general secretary said, "The BNP has become isolated from the people and leaders and activists due to anti-politics." They don't have votes. So the grassroots are moving away from the election knowing that defeat is certain. '

Addressing the leaders and workers of his party at the time, he said, "After many people have signed up for the sub-committee, there is no more research. Some of them got involved in various misdeeds by printing their cards as members of the sub-committee. Strict action will be taken against them. If one writes names in different committees, their names will be removed from all the committees. '

Awami League presidium member Matia Chowdhury, agriculture affairs secretary Faridunnahar Laili, health secretary Dr. Rokeya Sultan, Education and Human Resources Secretary Shamsunnahar Chapa and newly elected leaders of the Relief and Social Welfare Sub-Committee.

AKM Rahmatullah, chairman of the relief and social welfare sub-committee, did not attend the meeting due to illness.

Earlier in the morning, members of the sub-committee headed by Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi laid a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu at Dhanmondi 32.
