Dhaka, June 23: The Bridges Department of the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges has invited the BNP to the inauguration ceremony of the Padma Bridge.

Dulal Chandra Sutradhar, deputy secretary of the bridge division, arrived at the BNP's central office in Naya Paltan at 11am on Wednesday (June 22) and handed over the invitation letter to the party's senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

Invitation letters have been issued in the name of seven BNP leaders. They are party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Abdul Moin Khan, Nazrul Islam Khan and vice chairman Hafiz Uddin Ahmed.

The Padma Bridge is going to be inaugurated on June 25. That morning, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will unveil the inaugural plaque in Mawa and join the gathering. Then she will cross the bridge with a toll. Then she will unveil the plaque again in Jazira.

Meanwhile, prominent people of the country are being invited to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Padma Bridge. Invitation has already started. Following this, invitation letters were also given to the BNP leaders.
