Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 7 December 2023: General Secretary of Awami League and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said, "BNP-Jamaat is conspiring to create chaos in the whole country on Human Rights Day. Having failed in the movement due to lack of public involvement, they now want to sabotage the movement."
Obaidul Quader said in a press briefing at the Awami League president's political office in Dhanmondi of the capital on Wednesday, December 6 afternoon, "BNP is a party that is doing wrong politics and the way people are getting divided due to their closeness with Jamaat, it will be seen that at some point Jamaat will be the main leader of BNP. BNP will be Jamaat's B team."
Regarding the lock in the BNP office, Awami League General Secretary said, "BNP has locked itself. If you have courage, come out."
Regarding seat distribution with Jatiya Party, a partner of the 14-party alliance, Obaidul Quader said, "How can I say before the meeting? Let's meet first, I will listen to their speech first, how will we proceed in the coming days - I will listen to the party's speech first."
Regarding the opposition party of Awami League in the election, Obaidul Quader said, "The opposition party will stand. Trinamul BNP - they are a big alliance. Supreme party. There are many others who are contesting in the election."
The Awami League general secretary said about his statement about the right time of the powerful opposition party of the Jatiya Party, "It was my personal opinion. They may not agree with my opinion. This is also democracy. Those who elect will be opponents of each other. Discussions have been held with the coalition. Seat allotment within 2/1 day."
On the occasion of the Fall of Dictatorship Day, Awami League General Secretary said, "Pure democracy is rare in the world. However, in the face of hundreds of obstacles, Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Bangabandhu's daughter took the reins of that democracy after '75. That's why we are a democracy even after some mistakes and deviations. Moving on to development."
