Own Correspondent, Dhaka, February 1: The BNP is drifting away from the mainstream politics in the country day by day for nurturing communalism, extremism and the enemies of independence. Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges, Obaidul Quader, made the remarks at a press conference at the Secretariat on Monday morning.

Obaidul Quader said, "The BNP betrayed the freedom war by sharing power with the anti-independence forces. As an ally of the evil forces, they have established themselves as anti-national."

The Bridge Minister said, "The appointment of a lobbyists is a burning proof of BJP's anti-national campaign. The BNP is trying to question the achievements of the country just to achieve political benefits. It's mask is unveiled to the people today."

Mentioning that the 'BNP made a partnership with lies since its formation', the general secretary of the Awami League said the BNP is a peddler of a masked democracy. Their multi-party democracy was like a glamorous advertisement.

The Road Transport Minister said the BNP had cut canals and brought crocodiles into the country's economy, adding that development was their enemy. They have set a record in this country for vote rigging, mock elections through yes-no votes, voterless elections and creating fake voters. But this party shamelessly blames the current government for its failure.

He said BNP's politics is accustomed to a culture of irregularities, looting and corruption. Their so-called development was like a pole without electricity connection. On the other hand, Awami League has been doing politics of land and people since its birth. They are with every achievement of this country.

Mentioning that the BNP is incensed in the economic transition of the country, the Minister of Road Transport and Bridges said, "The BNP could not do it, on the contrary, they now want to dispute the achievement of Sheikh Hasina. They want to dispute the country's electoral system.

Obaidul Quader said that the BNP's mask will be unveiled again in front of the people by finding the source of investment abroad. The BNP has made the development of the people its opponent, and it is now investing money in the country and abroad, making the country its opponent.
