Dhaka, December 3: Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader has said that after failing in the movement, BNP is now looking for a dark lane to go to power by relying on others.

He said any attempt to destroy religious tolerance would be strictly suppressed. The BNP has now become a failed political party. So after failing in the movement, they are looking for a dark lane to go to power by relying on others.

The minister said this at an extended meeting of Laxmipur district Awami League on Thursday. He joined the meeting via video conference from his official residence in the Parliament House area. He warned the conspirators about Bangabandhu's sculpture and said there was no chance to compromise on the issue.

The bridge minister said the government will not stop any peaceful movement or gathering, but if it creates unrest in the name of the movement, the people will be given a proper response.

Addressing the leaders and workers to refrain from trading in party nominations, Obaidul Quader said, "Party titles have not been leased to anyone to abuse power day after day.

Warning the party leaders and workers, he said that the leaders and workers should be careful so that the negative achievements do not tarnish the positive achievements of the party and the government. If you make a team, you have to follow the discipline of the team. There will be no gain in development, if discipline does not return to the team. Quader also urged not to tarnish the development by treating the common people badly.

Addressing the Awami League leaders and workers, the party's general secretary said those who have already revolted in the local government elections and have been re-elected or defeated will no longer be nominated by the party.

Regarding development at the local level, the Road Transport Minister said a four-lane road from Begumganj to Laxmipur would be upgraded soon. Under no circumstances will Laxmipur be left behind, Lakshmi of Lakshmipur will be brought back.
