Dhaka, July 21: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged the countrymen to protect them from BNP-Jamaat, saying they only know how to destroy, corrupt and loot but do not know how to serve the people. She said, "They (BNP-Jamaat) know how to destroy, they don't know how to build anything, they don't know how to serve people, they only know how to do corruption and plunder and also know how to fulfill their interests."

The Prime Minister said this while inaugurating the running of trains on the newly constructed 72 km dual-gauge double rail line under the Akhaura-Laksam Double Track Project on Friday. He attended the inauguration ceremony at Laksam, Comilla through a virtual platform from his official residence Ganabhavan.

Sheikh Hasina said the government will not stop BNP-Jamaat's political program, but they will not be exempted if any destructive activities are repeated. Referring to the violence perpetrated by the BNP Jamaat clique during 2013-2015, the Prime Minister said, "We will not and are not stopping them from doing politics. But, they will not be spared if they set fire to the railway again or do any harm to the people."

He said there will be cameras everywhere and any destructive activities will be identified and punished accordingly.

The Prime Minister called upon the people to be vigilant to save themselves from the hands of terrorist BNP-Jamaat. He also said, "We want to protect the country from them."

The Prime Minister said, "BNP is a terrorist party. BNP understands nothing but terrorism." He also mentioned the misdeeds and cruelty of military dictator Ziaur Rahman, the founder of BNP. He also said that Ziaur Rahman was involved in the brutal killing of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and four national leaders in prison, as well as the killing of freedom fighter officers and ordinary people of the armed forces.

Sheikh Hasina said, when Zia's wife (Begum Khaleda Zia) came to power, she also understood nothing but killing people. They (BNP) killed more than 21,000 Awami League leaders and activists and during her (Khaleda Zia) regime, massive repression and torture was carried out on a large number of people.
