Quader BNP's politics is full of hypocrisy and duplicity: Obaidul Quader
Dhaka, June 25, 2023 : Awami League General Secretary Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that BNP politics is full of hypocrisy and duplicity and the government did not detain Begum Zia.
He is being punished by the court's verdict, but Sheikh Hasina, showing generosity, suspended his punishment by executive order and allowed him to stay at home. In this regard, he condemned and protested the statement of BNP leaders including BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir as politically motivated.
Quader said, "They should have been grateful for Sheikh Hasina's generosity. But they are pretending to be innocent."
He also said that Sheikh Hasina has established people's right to vote and rice. BNPE has taken away the voting rights of the people of the country.
"BNP has created a record of taking away democracy and voting rights through open vote rigging. Those who left the country fragile and dependent, are today criticizing the country's economic achievements and spreading falsehoods. Sheikh Hasina has put the economy of this country on a strong structure. Bangladesh is an emerging power in the world today. They can never accept this achievement and prosperity of the country," he said.
In the statement, Awami League General Secretary said, "People know the story of Zia family in this country. People have not forgotten the cheeky story of the broken suitcase. People have also seen luxury ships emerging from broken suitcases. Corruption and money laundering were institutionalized during the BNP regime under the leadership of Tarek Zia. Part of Zia family's money smuggled abroad has also been brought back to the country."
He said, "BNP is now burnt by self-immolation. They are paying the price of wrong politics. Despite being a political party of an independent country, they still believe in subjugation in the mind world. The ghost of Pakistan did not leave their minds. Instead of going to the people, they are attacking foreign embassies and plotting against the country. Those who are born and developed through conspiracy will not be able to come out of that circle. That's true. But Bangladesh Awami League does politics for the people. Is on the side of the people, will be on the side of the people."
