Suhrawardy Udyan BNP will be allowed to hold rally at Suhrawardy Udyan: Home Minister
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Nov 25: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that BNP will be allowed to hold a rally on December 10 at Suhrawardy Udyan subject to conditions.
He said this in response to questions from reporters after a program at Sadarghat on Thursday (November 24) evening.
Home Minister said, "BNP is a political party. They have the right to do politics. They will systematically do constructive politics. There is nothing stopping us here. If they do something that violates political norms, we have objections. We have been saying that all the time. We have never accepted them, they are holding meetings and gatherings all over the country."
One of the latest demands of BNP was Suhrawardy Udyan. The DMP Commissioner has been told to inform on our behalf, so is the directive of the Prime Minister. They will be informed that they can hold this meeting in Suhrawardy Udyan. But no untoward incident can happen. Obstruction and public suffering shall not be allowed. It will be a request to them.
In reply to the question whether there is any fear about the two militants who escaped from the court in Dhaka, the Home Minister said that we have caught one of their master. Those who have other hosts will also be caught. We hope to catch the two militants who escaped soon.
