Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 5 April 2024: Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has commented that BNP will not be able to take the right path as long as it is in the hands of the party's Acting Chairperson Tarique Rahman.

He said, "The curse of BNP is Tarek Rahman, a convicted fugitive. As long as he is in the leadership of BNP, BNP will not come in the right direction. The party will remain stuck in the sand of mistakes."

Obaidul Quader said this at an exchange meeting organized at the central office of Awami League on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on Thursday afternoon.

This exchange meeting was held with the Khulna divisional Awami League leaders to prepare for the celebration of Mujibnagar Day on April 17. He said, "BNP leaders are now finding it difficult to accept the free style leadership of BNP under the orders of London. They have started to understand that as long as Tarek Rahman is at the helm, BNP is stuck in the sand of mistakes. They cannot get out of here."

The bridge minister said, "Politics will be done by remote control, is it possible? If you have courage, come to the country, do politics. Have the courage to go to jail. People will not respond to calls from London. Today, BNP leaders also call the calls of this movement fake."

He said, "BNP has failed in this movement, failed to prevent elections. Failed even by calling for boycott of Indian products. Indian products in BNP leaders' bedrooms, kitchens. This so-called call is speculation. This speculation has ended. Today, BNP is disoriented."
