Dhaka, November 10: A day after Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Fardin Noor Parash (24) went missing, his body was recovered from Shitalakshya river in Narayanganj on Monday by naval police. The police arrested his girlfriend Bushra in the case filed in this incident.

He was arrested from a house in Rampura area of the capital on Thursday (November 10) morning. Motijheel Division Deputy Commissioner (DC) Hayatul Islam Khan said that the police brought the arrested Bushra to Rampura police station for questioning.

Earlier, a case was filed against unknown people, including Fardin's girlfriend Bushra, on the charge of "killing and disappearing the body". Nur Uddin Rana, father of Fardin, who was killed in Rampura police station, filed this case as a plaintiff.

Rampura Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam said on Thursday morning that the case was registered on Wednesday around 3:30 pm. BUET student Fardin's father filed a murder case against unknown persons including Bushra.

Fardin, a BUET student, has been missing since last Saturday (November 5). On the same day, his father Kazi Noor Uddin made a general diary (GD) in this regard at Rampura police station in the capital. Navy police recovered the body of Fardin Noor Parash from Shitalakshya river in Narayanganj at around 6 pm last Monday (November 7) after two days of disappearance.

The police have already interrogated two of Fardin's friends named Bushra and Shirsha Samshapta in connection with the recovery of Fardin's body. Girlfriend Bushra is a student of a private university.

Sheikh Farhad, resident medical officer of Narayanganj General Hospital, said after the autopsy last Tuesday (November 8), they found that Fardin's head and chest were injured in the autopsy. But that injury is not a sharp weapon. The marks of injury confirmed that it was murder. Data and evidence have been sent to Mahakhali VCR for police demand and further information. If you get the report from there, it will be completely confirmed how Fardin was killed.
