Burial of Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury completed with state honour

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Sept 13: The burial of Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, deputy leader of the National Assembly and member of the Presidium of Bangladesh Awami League, has been completed.

On Monday (September 12), her body was buried at the capital's Banani cemetery at 6:30 pm after the second prayer at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. General people participated in the funeral.

When Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury's body reached the Banani cemetery before the burial, a team of police on behalf of the Dhaka district administration gave a 'guard of honour'.

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader led the central leaders of the party and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam was present.

Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury breathed her last while undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital on Sunday (September 11). She was 87.

Earlier on Monday afternoon, when the body of Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury was taken to the central Shaheed Minar of Dhaka, general people paid their respects to her. Awami League, Awami Jubo League, Swachhasevak League, Chhatra League, 14-party alliance, social activists, and cultural organizations paid tribute. Besides, many others came to Shaheed Minar to pay their respects through the party and personal initiatives.
