Dhaka, December 13: Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr. Hasan Mahmud said that BNP has brought down itself by bringing down the government. They themselves resigned from the parliament when they came to demand the government's resignation.

He said, "BNP said they will bring down the government, the country will be led by Khaleda Zia from the 10th. They have brought down themselves by coming to bring down the government."

The minister said these things today while addressing the tri-annual conference of Chittagong South District Awami League at the gymnasium ground adjacent to MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong city.

Dr. Hashan Mahmud said, "BNP thought that if they resigned from Parliament, the foundations of the government would be shaken. The government was a bit shaken, nothing more. On the day they resigned, the Parliament Secretariat issued a notification and declared the seats vacant. There will be by-elections, now. They will realize what a mistake they have made."

Awami League presidium member Engineer Mosharraf Hossain MP inaugurated the conference under the chairmanship of Chittagong South District Awami League President Moslem Uddin Ahmed and moderated by General Secretary Mofizur Rahman. General Secretary of Awami League and Minister of Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader spoke online as the chief guest. Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif was the main speaker.

Addressing the BNP, Dr. Hashan Mahmud said that while pushing the Awami League, the BNP itself has fallen. Awami League is standing on such a solid foundation that if someone pushes it, it will fall down. If you hit a hard wall, nothing happens to the wall, but the one who hits it gets a headache. Similarly, if Awami League comes to clash with Awami League, nothing will happen. On the contrary, BNP will collapse.
