Dhaka, Sept 28: Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan said that the previous laws remained in English. It should be translated into Bengali instead of word for word. A skilled translator is needed to do this. The government should take initiatives in this regard. He hopes the Ministers present in the meeting will take necessary initiative in this regard and ask the Law Ministry to take steps to translate the Act into Bengali.

He said these things at a civic reception for Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan organized by Greater Mymensingh Samity, Dhaka at the Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Auditorium of the National Museum at Shahbagh in the capital on Wednesday afternoon.

The Chief Justice said that most of the law books are in English. Since 1984 all laws are being made in Bengal. All the previous laws are in English. Translating law in English to Bengali is not a difficult task. But not so easy. Because the language of the law is slightly different.

He said about reading law books, you will see that reading story books is very fun. If you look at the law book in one hand, after reading one or two lines, you will not want to read any more. It was ours once too but we now enjoy reading it.

"I enjoy it, so do our judges. We work on the law all day, always. But common people do not understand. They don't understand, that's right. That is why the new laws are being made in Bengal," he said.

The new Chief Justice said that many of our judges are now giving judgments in Bengali. They are trying to give judgment in Bengal. We have an app in the Supreme Court. Although the judgment is in English, it is being done in Bengali. But the sad thing is that the language (language) of these apps, the language (language) of these apps is Bengali, when you read this Bengali, you will forget your own melodious Bengali.

He said, this Bengali is mechanical Bengali. Still we are trying. Mr. Mustafa Jabbar is an IT expert, I will tell him if any simpler apps can be made, he can try. The judgment we give in English should be invented by him in Bengali so that the village people can understand it and he has that inventive power. We hope he will be quick to this end.
