Chinese company official killed in Comilla EPZ
Dhaka, May 7: An HR officer of a Chinese company in Comilla EPZ, was stabbed to death by miscreants. The incident took place on Friday (April 30) afternoon in front of Rosa Super Market near the main gate of Comilla EPZ on Tomchambridge-Bakhrabad Road in the city.
The deceased was identified as Khairul Bashar Shumon, son of Matin Master of Balurchar (Mandari) village in Galiyara union of Sadar Dakshin upazila.
According to police and locals, Shumon, a senior HR officer of the company, was attacked by miscreants on his way home from work on Friday afternoon when he reached in front of Rosa Super Market. The miscreants randomly beat and stabbed him and fled on a motorcycle. Locals rescued him in critical condition and took him to Comilla Medical College Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Shumon's cousin Alamin said that no one had enmity with him. "We still can't say who stabbed him. However, we learned from his colleagues that one person was fired for alleged irregularities from his company. The man who was dismissed stabbed Shumon in anger."
Abdullah Al-Mamun, in-charge of the EPZ police outpost, said the body of the deceased was in the morgue of Comilla Medical College Hospital. Police are conducting a search operation to unravel the mystery of the murder and catch the killers.
Comilla EPZ DGM Anisur Rahman Nayan said Khairul Bashar Shumon, an officer of a Chinese company, was attacked in front of the EPZ gate on his way home after office. "We learned that he died of excessive bleeding from the stab wound."
