Dhaka, March 3: No permission of City Corporation is required for construction of buildings in City Corporation area. Local government minister Md Tajul Islam said the city corporation only needs to be informed about the construction of the building. He was speaking to reporters after an inter-ministerial meeting at the Secretariat on Thursday (March 3rd).

After the first inter-ministerial meeting on prevention of mosquito-borne diseases across the country in 2022, the minister said that permission for architectural or structural design of buildings would not be required from the city corporation. Permission has been sought from RAJUK for the construction of a building at a certain place.

He added that the building would be constructed in a place shown in the paper. Now whether the building is being constructed on that place, whether the plan of that building is going according to the plan, if no one takes care of it, will the city be habitable? That is why the city corporation is being involved in the construction of the building, he said.

In a meeting with the concerned people at the Secretariat on February 6, Minister Md. Tajul Islam said that approval should be sought from RAJUK as well as City Corporation while constructing any infrastructure in the capital. At that time, he said, even after the approval of RAJUK, the city corporation will be able to stop any project if the people have difficulty.
