Murder College girl murdered in Gazipur, tutor pleads guilty
Dhaka, May 12: An Arabic teacher and a college student formed a relationship during the course of their classes. Later, the teacher illegally married the girl via a verbal oath. Later, the tutor became angry as no one in the family accepted and she could not convince the family about their marriage.
According to the previous plan, the home teacher made a cow slaughter knife with 650 rupees. After that, college student Rabeya Akhter (21) was killed after entering the house with that knife. When they came forward to save her, the girl's mother and two sisters were also hacked and injured.
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) said these things after the arrest of Md Saidul Islam (25), the only accused in the case of brutally hacking to death a college girl and seriously injuring the victim's mother and two sisters in Salna, Gazipur on May 8.
Saidul, an Arabic teacher, was arrested in an operation by the intelligence wing of RAB headquarters and RAB-1 in Tangail's Bhuyapur area on Wednesday (May 10) night.
RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Khandaker Al Moin said these things at a press conference organized at RAB Media Center in the capital on Thursday afternoon.
Based on the preliminary interrogation of the arrested Saidul, he said that Rabeya hired Saidul as a tutor to teach Arabic to her two sisters and mother during the Corona period in 2020. On this occasion, he used to go back and forth to that house constantly. At one stage he had a good relationship with the victim's family. At various times, Saidul looked down on the victim and at one stage proposed marriage to the victim. After 5-6 months of teaching Arabic, he stopped reading Arabic.
He said Saidul fraudulently married the victim orally in December 2020. Pressure is exerted on the victim and her family to make the marriage socially established. When the victim's family came to know about the matter, they stopped the victim's contact with Saidul.
In October 2022, the victim lodged a complaint with the Gazipur Sadar police station about her harassment. In view of which Saidul refrained from harassing the victim for some time. But for two months he kept harassing her again on the way to and from college and home. He threatened to kill the victim if he did not agree to the proposal.
The RAB official said that at one stage Saidul came to know that the victim was preparing to go out of the country for higher education. Saidul could not accept the matter in any way and got angry with the victim and his family and planned to kill him.
