Dhaka, Jan 16: Party President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina commented that it was very important for Awami League to come to power to continue the development of the country.
In a joint meeting of the party, she said, there were many conspiracies to prevent the election, but they (conspirators) failed. It was very important for Awami League to come to power to move the country forward. Awami League will fulfill the promise with the manifesto, and the development of the country is also in the hands of Awami League.
She said these at the joint meeting of Awami League at Bangabandhu Avenue on Monday (January 15). The party's central executive council, advisory council, Dhaka Metropolitan North-South Awami League and presidents and general secretaries of all affiliated organizations participated in this joint meeting.
Accusing BNP of many conspiracies around the election, Sheikh Hasina said, "Awami League did not incite any party to BNP for violence, the police was also very tolerant and restrained. Yet BNP has committed violence within the country. Now they are giving dharna to foreign teachers. They will continue to do such activities in the future. Urging everyone to accept victory and defeat in the election and work for development, the Awami League president said that many party candidates have lost in this year's open election, while some have won. You have to accept whatever you win or lose and move forward."
She also warned the party leaders that the opposition will try to take advantage if they are busy blaming themselves. The Prime Minister said about the prices of the products, even though there are products in the market, many people are increasing the prices by manipulation. Such incidents continue to happen. Measures are being taken so that people do not suffer during Ramadan. I will take measures so that the price of food is within the reach of people.
Claiming that agricultural workers are not available because the employment of people has increased, she said that employment has increased so much that it is a liability to find workers in agriculture. A farmer now has to pay three meals and Tk 700-800 to make him work for a whole day. So, there is no alternative to agricultural mechanization.
Sheikh Hasina said, "Awami League is the people's party. It is possible to do so much because a strong organization like Awami League is by my side. Because how much people support Awami League, it has been understood in this election."
