Own Correspondent, Dhaka, August 18: Law Minister Anisul Haq said that none of the convicted and absconding accused in the August 21 grenade attack case will be exempted.

He said that the government is very active in this case. None of the convicted and absconding accused in the case will be exempted. The government is making necessary efforts to bring back the convicted and absconding accused. At the same time, efforts are being made to bring back the absconding accused in the Bangabandhu murder case.

He said this in response to a question from journalists after serving high-quality food to more than 150 neglected and underprivileged children of government children's families in Tejgaon, Dhaka, on Wednesday (August 17) afternoon.

The programme was organized by the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs as part of the 47th Martyrdom Anniversary and National Mourning Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. On the initiative of Anisul Haq, since 2016, every year in the month of August, the Ministry of Law serves food in this way to Tejgaon government children's families.

The Law Minister said, "Everyone knows how long the trial of the August 21 grenade attack case has started. While judging again, the drama of Judge Mia has been arranged. That is why it takes a long time to complete the trial in the subordinate court. It is now in the High Court. The appeal hearing of this case will be started soon. Talked to the Attorney General in this regard."

Anisul Haq said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her government always believed in the rule of law. Since Bangabandhu's murder case was tried during her government's regime, all murder cases will be tried.

When asked about the 2005 serial bombing case, he said that the trial of all the cases will be completed in phases.

Law Secretary Md. Golam Sarwar and concerned officials of the Tejgaon Government Child Family and Social Services Department spoke on the occasion. Officials of the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs were present at this time.
