Coronavirus Coronavirus: Death toll rises to 28,063 as one dies in 24 hours
Dhaka, December 30: One person has died within 24 hours- between Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, taking the toll to 28,063.
During this time, 495 people tested positive for the virus, taking the caseload to 15,84,518.
According to the Directorate Gemeral of Health Services (DGHS), the recovery toll has increased to 15,48,416 after 372 people made recoveries in the 24 hours.
It said that 21,079 samples were collected and 20,914 samples were tested during the said period. The daily infection rate was 2.37 percent.
So far, a total of 1,14,50,148 tests have been conducted, for an overall infection rate of 13.84 percent.
The recovery rate stands at 97.72 percent, while the death rate at 1.77 percent.
The deceased has been identified as a male from Dhaka division.
