Covid-19 Coronavirus kills 215 people in a day across Bangladesh
Dhaka, August 12: The deadly coronavirus claimed another 215 people in the last 24 hours, between Wednesday and Thursday morning, across the country. At the same time, 10,126 people tested Covid-19 positive, while 13,990 people recovered from the disease.
With it, the total number of deaths, caseload and recoveries rose to 23,613, 13,96,868 and 12,62,065 respectively.
Of the 215 fatalities were 107 men and 108 women.
One among them was above 100 years of age, nine between the age of 81 and 90 years, 36 between the age group of 71-80 years, 63 between the age of 61-70, 56 between the age of 51-60, 29 between the age of 41-50, 19 between the age of 31-40, nine between the age of 21-30, one between the age of 11-20 and two below the age of 10 years.
Dhaka division reported 65 deaths, Chittagong 54 deaths, Khulna 28 deaths, Sylhet 22 deaths, Rangpur 16 deaths, Barisal 12 deaths, Mymensingh 10 deaths and Rajshahi eight deaths.
The mortality rate stood at 1.69 percent.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services, the country tested 45,078 samples at 708 labs around the country in the last 24 hours. The daily infection rate was 22.46 percent.
