Coronavirus kills 35 in a day, infection rate stands at 6.05 percent

Dhaka, September 18: In the last 24 hours- between Friday and Saturday- 35 people died with cororavirus, taking Bangladesh's Covid-19 toll to 27,182, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

During this time, 1,190 people tested positive for the deadly virus. Till date, 15,41,300 people have tested positive for the virus across Bangladesh.

The DGHS said 1,645 people have recovered from the deadly disease in the last 24 hours. A total of 14,98,654 people have recovered from the deadly disease, so far, in the country.

In the last 24 hours, 19,896 coronavirus samples have been collected and 19,668 have been tested in the country. The single-day infection rate was 6.05 percent. The country has tested a total of 94,13,033 samples, for an overall infection rate of 16.37 percent.

Among the 35 deceased were 19 women and 16 men.

Dhaka division recorded 19 deaths, Chittagong six, three each in Rajshahi and Khulna divisions, two in Sylhet and one each in Rangpur and Barisal divisions.
