Dhaka, April 23: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina urged everyone to be careful saying that corrupt people and grenade attackers have entered the field to prevent the development and progress of the country.

She said, "If anti-freedom, war criminals, murderers, grenade attackers and corrupt people come back to power, the country and all the country's progress will be destroyed. So the countrymen should be careful."

She said these while exchanging greetings with people of different classes and professions at Ganobhaban on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday, April 22.

Sheikh Hasina said, "I am really happy to meet you on the holy day of Eid-ul-Fitr. Because you are my closest loved ones and soul mates. After losing my parents and brothers on the terrible night of August 15, 1975, I got the love and affection of the people of this country."

Mentioning that she loves the country and the people of the country like a mother, she said, "We are working tirelessly to bring smiles to the faces of the suffering people, to provide a beautiful and better life by ensuring all the basic needs by changing their fate. Because this was the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman."

Stating that Bangladesh has been recognized as a developing country due to the continued democratic process and stability, the Prime Minister said, "Bangladesh has witnessed such great socio-economic progress. Because people voted Awami League to power in 2008, 2014 and 2018 elections consecutively. I express my gratitude to Almighty Allah and the people of Bangladesh for giving me the opportunity to serve and vote Awami League to power again and again."

The Prime Minister recently hinted at the involvement of the BNP-Jamaat nexus in the fires in various markets including Bangabazar and directed the concerned authorities to conduct a proper investigation into the matter.

Sheikh Hasina said, "Those who can burn people to death, they can do everything. Awami League is the servant of the people because this party always serves the people."

She also said, "I am proud to be the daughter of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the nation. Prime Ministership is nothing to me. I consider power as a means of serving the people."

Mentioning that the Eid journey has been comfortable this time, she said, "Roads, highways, bridges; Especially due to extensive infrastructural development including Padma Bridge, this year's Eid journey has become easy and peaceful. Welcoming the people who went to their villages to share the joy of Eid with their loved ones, he said, "People are now enjoying the joy in villages because the government has delivered electricity from house to house."
