Country observing World Day Against Child Labour today

Dhaka, June 12: The country is celebrating World Day Against Child Labour today, June 12. This time the national theme of the day is 'Call of Mujib Borsho, End of Child Labour'. A number of non-governmental organizations, including the Ministry of Labour and Employment, the International Labor Organization (ILO) and UNICEF, have jointly launched various programs to mark the day.

President on the occasion of World Child Labor Prevention Day. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave the message. Special supplements will be published in several national newspapers.

‘Call of Mujib Borsho, End of child labour’. As always, Bangladesh is celebrating the day with importance.

In 2019, the United Nations declared 2021 as the 'International Year for the Elimination of Child Labor'. The ILO decided in 1992 to observe the first World Day Against Child Labour. Accordingly, since June 12, 2002, the ILO has been observing the day as 'World Day Against Child Labour' every year through various programs.
