Country's second nuclear power plant will be at Rooppur

She said, "I have asked to start preparations for the second nuclear power plant as soon as it is completed."

She said this while addressing the chief guest at the 'Bangabandhu Science and Technology Fellowship', 'NST Fellowship' and 'Special Research Grant' ceremony at Shapla Hall of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Monday.

The Prime Minister said, "We have constructed Rooppur nuclear power plant. I tried to build another power plant in the south. But the soil there is so soft, we have seen every island we explore. In fact, it seems impossible to do there. But now, after the completion of the power plant where we have done it, we can do the second one in this Pabna, in this Rooppur."

She told the Minister of Science and Technology who was present at the event, that when this work is completed, we can start the second work immediately, we have to make preparations from now. We have launched Bangabandhu Satellite-1 and we have also taken steps to launch Satellite-2.
