Dhaka, January 11: In the last one day, 22 more people have died due to coronavirus infection in the country while 849 new patients have been identified. The latest information on the coronavirus situation in the country was given by the Department of Health in a press release on Monday afternoon.

It said the total number of people infected with coronavirus in the country has increased to 5,23,302 people. The total number of deaths from coronavirus in the country has risen to 7,803.

According to the Department of Health, 917 more patients have been cured in the last one day. So far, the total number of recoveries has increased to 4,67,718.

The first case of coronavirus was detected in Bangladesh on March 8; It crossed 5 lakh on December 20. Of these, 4,019 Covid-19 patients were identified on July 2, which is the highest in a single day.

On March 18, 10 days after the first patient was identified, the Department of Health confirmed the first death report in the country. On December 29, it exceeded seven and a half thousand. Of these, 64 deaths were reported in a single day on June 30, the highest death toll in a single day.

According to the Department of Health, in the last 24 hours, 14,097 samples have been tested in 114 RT-PCR labs, 26 gene-expert labs and 51 rapid antigen labs across the country, for a total of 193 labs. So far 33,71,416 samples have been tested.

Considering the sample test in 24 hours, the detection rate is 6.02 percent, so far the total detection rate is 15.52 percent. The recovery rate was 89.38 percent and the death rate was 1.49 percent.
