Covid-19: 5 deaths, 428 new cases within 24 hours,

Dhaka, February 24: In the last 24 hours the novel coronavirus has killed five more people across the country. Among them are four men and one woman. With this, the number of deaths in this epidemic in the country increased to 8,379 people. 

During this period, 428 more people were newly diagnosed with coronavirus. The total number of identified patients in the country is 5 lakh 44 thousand 544 people.

In the last 24 hours, 16,435 samples were collected across the country and 16,152 samples were tested in 214 laboratories. The total number of sample tests stood at 39 lakh 87 thousand 676.

Meanwhile, 911 people, including asymptomatic patients, have recovered in the last 24 hours at various hospitals and homes across the country, including the capital. So far, a total of 4 lakh 93 thousand 798 people have recovered.

The first coronavirus patient was identified in the country on March 8 this year and the first corona patient died on March 18.

Of these, 8,339 are males (75.65 per cent) and 2,040 are females (24.35 per cent).
