Covid-19 Covid-19: Country records 261 deaths, 8,136 fresh cases within a day
Dhaka, August 7: Bangladesh recorded another 261 Covid-19 deaths and 8,136 new cases on within 24 hours between Friday and Saturday.
With it, the death tally rose to 22,411, while the caseload to 13,43,396.
According to a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) coronavirus bulletin, another 16,383 patients recovered from the deadly disease. The total number of recoveries across Bangladesh has swelled to 11,88,820.
Dhaka reported 101 deaths, followed by Chittagong division with 62 fatalities. Khulna accounted for 45 deaths, Mymensingh 16, Barisal 12, Rangpur 10, Rajshahi eight, Sylhet seven.
Meanwhile, 31,702 samples were tested across the country in the last 24 hours. The daily positivity rate was 25.65 percent.
The mortality stands at 1.67 percent.
