Covid-19 kills another 15 persons with 24 hours

Dhaka, October 15: Fifteen more people have died in the country in the past 24 hours after contracting the coronavirus. Of these, nine are men and six are women. A total of 5,608 people died from the virus.

In the last 24 hours, 1,600 new cases of coronavirus have been identified.

As a result, the total number of identified patients in the country increased to 384,559.

Besides, 1,780 people have recovered.

With this, the total number of healthy patients stood at 299,229.

In addition to notifying the number of dead and identified patients, the official notification said that 14,261 samples were collected and 14,104 samples were tested in 109 laboratories in the last 24 hours to detect coronavirus.

So far, the total sample test is 2,126,552.

According to the notification, in the last 24 hours, the patient identification rate is 11.34 percent as compared to the sample test and so far the patient identification rate is 18.08 percent as compared to the sample test.

Compared to the total number of patients identified, the recovery rate was 77.81 percent and the death rate was 1.46 percent.

So far, 4,314 males (76.93 percent) and 1,294 females (23.07 percent) have died in Covid-19.

Age-based analysis showed that of the 15 people who died in the last 24 hours, one was in their thirties, one in their forties, three in their fifties and 10 in their sixties.

There were nine from Dhaka division, four from Chittagong, one from Khulna and one from Sylhet division.

Everyone died at the hospital.
