COVID-19: One death, 124 new cases reported in last 24 hours

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Oct 23: One person died of Covid-19 in 24 hours from Friday 8 am to Saturday 8 am in the country. With this, the total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country has reached 29,412 since the outbreak of the pandemic.

During this time, 124 new cases were reported, taking the total number of Covid-19 cases to 20 lakh 34 thousand 02.

On Saturday (October 22), a regular press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Corona said that 2,262 samples were collected and 2,259 samples were tested in 24 hours from Friday 8 am to Saturday 8 am in 882 laboratories across the country. The detection rate against the test is 5.49 percent. The total detection rate since the beginning of the pandemic is 13.59 percent.

Meanwhile, 499 people have recovered from corona in 24 hours. With this, the total number of recoveries reached 19 lakh 77 thousand 872.

On March 8, 2020, Bangladesh reported the first Covid-19 case. After 10 days on March 18, the first corona-related death was reported by the DGHS.
