Covid-19: Single-day death toll lowest in three months as 38 die across Bangladesh

Dhaka, September 10: The downward trend of deaths in coronavirus continued in Bangladesh as 38 fatalities- the lowest in three months- were recorded in between Thursday and Friday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

During this time, 2,325 people tested positive for the virus.

The caseload has risen to 15,27,215, while Bangladesh has witnessed 26,832 coronavirus deaths.

The DGHS said 27,230 Covid-19 samples were collected and 26,878 samples were tested across the country in the last 24 hours.

The daily infection rate was 8.65 percent.

A total of 92,02,790 coronavirus samples has been tested, so far, for an overall infection rate of 16.60 percent.

In the last 24 hours, 3,856 people have recovered from the disease, taking the recovery toll to 14,72,067.

Among the 38 dead were 20 men and 18 women. Dhaka division accounted for 17 deceased, Chittagong 10, Khulna five, two each in Mymensingh and Rajshahi and one each in Sylhet and Rangpur.
