Covid-19 vaccination stopped in 42 districts and half of the centers in Dhaka

Dhaka, June 9: Covid-19 vaccination has been stopped in 42 districts and almost half the centres in Dhaka, according to a report by the Depart of Health on Tuesday.

The activity was hated in 23 out of 47 vaccination centres in Dhaka.

In Dhaka, 1,716 people took the second dose of the Oxford-AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine. On Tuesday, 5,563 people received the second dose of the vaccine.

The country has received 1.02 crore vaccines till date. Only 1,51,288 doses of the vaccine is left across the country.

According to the report sent by the Department of Health, no vaccines were administered in the following dstricts:- Gazipur, Manikganj, Munshiganj, Narayanganj, Rajbari, Shariatpur, Tangail, Mymensingh, Netrokona, Jamalpur, Bagerhat, Jessore, Jhenaidah, Magura, Narail, Kushtia, Chuadanga, Meherpur, Barisal, Patuakhali, Bhola, Pirojpur, Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Khagrachari, Feni, Lakshmipur, Chandpur, Rajshahi, Naogaon, Natore, Joypurhat, Sirajganj, Pabna, Panchagarh, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram, Thakurgaon, Dinajpur, and Gaibandha.

According to the data, 58,20,015 people have taken the first dose of the vaccine in the country so far. The second dose was taken by 42,28,741 people. So far 1,00,46,756 doses of vaccine have been given to the two groups. These are all Covishield vaccines made at the Seram Institute of India with the Oxford-AstraZeneca formula.

Among those who have taken the first dose, 14,00,000 are facing a crisis in the second dose of the vaccine.

The Department of Health has already notified that those waiting the get the vaccine should keep patience until the next shipment carrying the jab arrives. At the same time, the necessary hygiene rules must be followed.

The government is trying to collect a second dose of coronavirus vaccine from the United States and the United Kingdom. Efforts have been made to collect additional Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines. These matters are being discussed.
