Dhaka, January 29: Preparations have begun to send vaccines for coronavirus from India- kept at Beximco's pharmaceutical factory in Tongi, Gazipur- to 34 districts. Beximco Pharmaceutical Authority and local administration began sending vaccines under tight security on Thursday (January 28th) evening.

Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Tongi West Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shah Alam confirmed the matter.

The OC said 5 million vaccines from India were kept in the factory. In the first phase on Thursday, 26 lakh 4 thousand doses of vaccine have been sent to 34 districts of the country. The vaccines are being sent from the Beximco factory in Tongi in a freezer truck from Thursday evening to Friday morning.

He added that the Gazipur Metropolitan Police had already informed the 34 district administrations that the dose of vaccine had reached them.

Corona vaccination districts are: Mymensingh, Jamalpur, Sherpur, Netrokona, Brahmanbaria, Habiganj, Moulvibazar, Sylhet, Sunamganj, Narsingdi, Bhola, Barisal, Jhalokati, Patuakhali, Barguna, Rajbari, Faridpur, Rajpur. Chuadanga, Jhenaidah, Magura, Narail, Pabna, Natore, Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj, Sirajganj, Bogra, Naogaon and Joypurhat.

On Friday, the civil surgeons of the mentioned districts will take the vaccines at their own risk with the help of the administration.

Ahmed Imranul Haque, Mahbub Alam, Kazi Nadim Ahmed, Deputy Commissioner of Tongi Zone of Gazipur Metropolitan Police Iltutmish and others were present while sending the first consignment of corona vaccine from Cherag Ali's Beximco Pharmaceutical Factory in Tongi.
